The Winning Formula

CGFC’s Conditioning Program

Working with PGA golfers, olympic gold medal snowboarders, X Games gold medallists in snowboarding and skiing, downhill mountain bike racers, champion moto-cross racers and many others, our system has worked for all of these athletes.

CGFC’s system for creating conditioning programs is a very unique and powerful therapy and exercise program. We use a three step process to create and strengthen proper body mechanics. It is this process that leads to our clients being successful not just at golf, but every other sport and activity in life.

STEP ONE:

Hands on Therapy
The goal is to seek and find what we call, “tissue issues.” These are trigger points, muscle adhesions, and compromised tissue due to repetitive stress, trauma, and injury. Working out these muscular issues allows muscle to optimally contract and relax and learn new movement without compensation.

RESULT– Decreased or elimination of pain and better movement.

STEP TWO:

Muscle Activation Techniques (M.A.T.)
Now that we have non-compensated muscle, we want to “re-establish” the connection between the muscle and the brain. We do this with M.A.T. (Muscle Activation Techniques) that identify and treat weak and inhibited muscle and essentially “turns the muscle back on.”
When MAT is performed, the natural protective mechanisms are diminished and normal joint motion occurs. The end result is not only an increase in the joint’s range of motion but also a simultaneous increase in stability through increased motion. The joint will have mobility and stability thus decreasing the chance for further injury and a decrease performance.

RESULT Increased range of motion, optimal learning environment for movement re-education, and an improved ability to perform the moves your golf teacher has wanted you to do but you had a hard time not just understanding how to do them, but doing them with repetition.

STEP THREE:

Stretching and conditioning program using Titleist Performance Institute technology and golf biomechanics.
As Golf biomechanics, we use an extensive testing process that determines the function of the following:

  1. Core strength
  2. Posture
  3. Comparative joint range of motion
  4. Spinal angle assessment
  5. Comparative muscle tension range of motion
  6. Joint movement
  7. Primal movement pattern assessment (squat, lunge, push, pull, bend, rotate and walk/run)
  8. Golf specific testing using Titleist Performance Institute testing protocols-
    • Ability to separate
    • Shoulder function
    • Hip movement
    • Thoracic spine assessment
    • Stability/Mobility chain function
    • Swing assessment

From the testing results from numbers one through eight, we create a stretching and conditioning program that incorporates your injury history, goals, schedule, your access to equipment and your time.

We will send you your program via email so you will have access to your entire program online in video clip format. We will also teach you your program in a one-on-one session and you will go home with a printed copy of your program with pictures and explanations of how to do each stretch or exercise.

RESULT– A changed physique from the inside out

  • Increased range of motion
  • A balanced muscular system
  • Optimal stability in the core and shoulders
  • Improved balance
  • Improved ability to move more, i.e., squat, lunge, bend, twist, pull, push and walk- all primal movement patterns
  • A leaner you!

For your golf game this means…

  • No more swing faults
  • Increase 10-50 yards to your drives
  • Hit more fairways
  • Generate higher club head speed
  • Increase your competitiveness
  • Lower your handicap
  • Decrease or eliminate injuries and back pain
  • Improve your core stability and back strength
  • Reduce body fat
